I recently came across the fact that in old days people used to use rock salt in their diet and it used to be better for their health as well. Hence when I got a sore throat issue, I tried gargling with warm water and rock salt instead of iodised salt.
Guess what, the recovery time was far better than before compared to iodised salt and water gargling. First I thought it's a coincidence but later 2nd to 3rd time I felt the difference and concluded that it's not a coincidence for sure. Later to these incidents I tried searching a bit on the internet and I found this:

I would really suggest you using rock salt more in your diet if possible and reduce your intake of commercial iodised salt, especially if you have blood pressure problems.
